IT Networking Committee Education: Cyberbit Cyber Range Ransomware Simulation Workshop

Description

Located within IPRA's Administration & Finance Section, the IT Networking Committee consists of park, recreation, and forest preserve professionals that either specialize or work in and around information technology. This event will feature a Cyberbit Cyber Range Ransomware Simulation Workshop by Wayne Pruitt with Cyberbit.  If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.

Timeline:
1:00pm:  Introductions
1:05pm:  Cyberbit Cyber Range Ransomware Simulation Workshop

Presentation Details:  In this session, participants will follow along and engage with a certified Cyberbit trainer in a cyber range as we explore, investigate, and ultimately mitigate a simulated cyber-attack. Imagine this: an Illinois agency's Executive Crisis Management Team (CMT) has been mobilized following a request from the CISO, which is based on reports of a suspected ransomware attack. What are you and your team going to do next? This is a great opportunity to learn in an inclusive and fun environment! 

Learning Objectives: 
1.  Participants will learn about cyber attacker tactics and techniques
2.  Participants will practice responding to a potential ransomware attack
3.  Participants will come away with knowledge that they can use to create, analyze, and/or enhance their internal incident response playbooks.
