CEU Equivalency Petition

The CEU Equivalency Petition allows individuals who are certified as a CPRE or CPRP with the National Recreation & Park Association to petition for acceptance of continuing education unit equivalency for courses, institutes, and workshops that do not offer CEUs or college credits. The following criteria must be satisfied for a petition to be reviewed and accepted:

  1. Session(s) must have title, description, and 3 learning objectives.
  2. Content must tie back to CPRE and CPRP certifications, governed by the National Certification Board (NCB).
  3. Proof of attendance is required (receipt of registration is preferred).
  4. Petition must be submitted after and within 6 months the program date, otherwise it will not be reviewed.

Disclaimer: IPRA reserves the right to accept or reject any petition at its own discretion. IPRA's CEU policy and the IACET Standards do not permit commercial or promotional material of any kind to be included in any educational opportunity.

Fees: $5.00 for each 0.1 CEU equivalent approved (0.1 CEU = 1 hour).

Example: If you are petitioning for 5 hours of continuing education unit equivalency, your fee would be $25 upon approval (0.5 CEUs x $5 = $25)

Timeline for Approval: Once the petition is completed, IPRA will review and contact the applicant with a status of the petition within 7-10 business days. Upon approval, the following must occur in order for the applicant to receive CEU equivalents:

  1. Upon approval, IPRA will invoice applicant for payment within 10 days.
  2. Upon receipt of payment, applicant to receive electronic CEU form via email.
