Instructions

IPRA memberships are valid for the calendar year in which they are purchased, expiring on December 31st of that year. For example, a membership purchased on June 1, 2026, would expire on December 31, 2026.

Thinking about joining as a new Professional Member? Hold off until October 1, 2026!  All new memberships purchased from Oct 1 - Dec 31st 2026 will be active through 12/31/27*

Please fill out the form as completely as you can. This info allows us to improve your member experience.

  • Organization Field: Please enter your current employer. Retirees, please enter 'Retired' in the Organization field.

  • Designations Field: Include any certifications or advanced degrees you have obtained (CPRE, CPRP, ASO, Ph.D., Etc)

Please also fill out the College and University field as it helps us connect alumni and students.

Illinois professionals in the field of parks, recreation or conservation within the Chicago Metro Counties of: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake & Will. Members must join at the highest level of eligibility.
Illinois professionals in the field of parks, recreation or conservation outside of the Chicago Metro Counties of: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake & Will. Members must join at the highest level of eligibility.
Full-time park & recreation professionals working outside of Illinois, professionals who are employed at only a part-time position, people employed by a private recreation entity, a person permanently retired from the field, a person representing an association or foundation related to the field, or a person actively seeking employment in the field. Upon recommendation to and approval to the board, a former professional who wishes to stay connected to the field, but who is not eligible for Commercial membership, may obtain Advocate status. Members must join at the highest level of eligibility. 

Complimentary student and faculty membership is available to individuals who are currently full-time students or faculty members at a school, college, or university. IPRA supports pre-professionals through mentoring, scholarships, and professional development opportunities. Members are required to join at the highest membership level for which they are eligible.
