Located within IPRA's Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Section, the Support Services & Staffing Committee consists of a group of special recreation professionals that oversee staffing. If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.
Session Description:
Laughter is a universal language across all ages, abilities, backgrounds and languages. Humor and laughter can alleviate stress, reduce anxiety, and improve self-esteem for you, as well as individuals participating in your programs. Learn how to use humor as a tool in a variety of situations from behavior de-escalation to conflict resolution and so much more.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn the physical and emotional benefits of laughter.
2. Discover improv techniques and principles to remedy a variety of situations.
3. Acquire exercises and activities you can use in both professional and recreational settings.
