DESCRIPTION:Located within IPRA's Recreation (REC) Section\, the Nature Committee consists of a group of professionals that specialize or work in and around nature centers and nature programming. Don't work at a nature center? Don't worry\, we still have so much to offer to any program working to include nature into its recreational offerings.  If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes\, you are encouraged to register.Join the IPRA Nature Committee at the Vera Meineke Nature Center at Spring Valley for From Play Pockets to Playgrounds: Rethinking Nature Play! Explore what nature play looks like\, from simple natural play pockets using logs\, sticks\, and other natural materials to larger\, purpose-built nature playgrounds like Bison's Bluff. Through discussion and examples from Spring Valley\, we'll share ideas for creating engaging\, inclusive play opportunities\, discuss safety\, accessibility\, staffing\, and budget considerations\, and explore how agencies can incorporate nature play into their existing landscapes and programming. Bring your experiences\, questions\, and ideas to share!
