Description

Join professionals from across Illinois for a day of learning, networking, and actionable strategies at the 5th annual Diversity Education Institute, presented by IPRA’s Diversity (DIV) Section. Whether you're just beginning your DEI journey or looking to refine your agency's approach, this dynamic program will provide fresh insights, expert guidance, and valuable connections.

The day kicks off with a compelling keynote from Roni Weiss (Travel Unity) on Creating a Comprehensive DEI Plan, setting the stage for a lineup of thought-provoking sessions. You'll explore ways to develop an effective agency plan, implement diverse recruitment strategies, and better support neurodiversity in recreation. Dive into important discussions on navigating difficult DEI conversations, staying informed on the latest diversity research and trends, and shaping inclusive recreation policies, specifically those related to gender identity and inclusion. The program concludes with a vital session from Autumn Saxton-Ross (NPRA) on Addressing Opposition to DEI, equipping you with strategies to drive meaningful change.

Engage with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and walk away with practical tools to implement in your agency. Don’t miss this opportunity to lead the DEI conversation and create lasting impact in your organization and community.
