Hosted by IPRA’s Facility Management (FM) and Parks and Natural Resource Management (PNRM) Sections, the 9th Annual Facility Management Workshop is a dynamic one-day event designed to equip parks and recreation professionals with practical tools to enhance operations, strengthen leadership, and foster collaboration across facility and park management teams.
Taking place on October 8, 2026, at the Geneva Park District, the workshop will feature the keynote presentation, Preserving Human Interaction in a Digital Society. This thought-provoking session explores both the advantages and challenges of technology, highlights the value of meaningful human connection, and provides strategies for evaluating what technology solutions best support your agency’s mission and goals.
Attendees will also have access to a variety of breakout sessions focused on both foundational competencies and emerging industry trends. Topics include managing large capital projects, repurposing underutilized spaces, understanding key components of facility management, improving ADA accessibility, navigating legal considerations, and strengthening emergency response preparedness.
Whether you are new to the profession or an experienced leader, this workshop offers relevant, real-world insights and actionable strategies to help you elevate your facilities, enhance community impact, and grow in your career.
