Located within IPRA's Administration & Finance Section, the IT Networking Committee consists of park, recreation, and forest preserve professionals that either specialize or work in and around information technology. This event will feature presentations on "Top Things on the Minds of IT Leaders – ie AI, Security and Business/Leadership Alignment" and "What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You: Data Discovery and Classification with Microsoft Purview." If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.

Top Things on the Minds of IT Leaders – ie AI, Security and Business/Leadership Alignment
What are the items most IT leaders are focused on in today’s world? Steve Fry, a virtual CIO from Heartland Business Systems (HBS) will talk about the top 3 he's seeing today. Steve will talk about some of the “what's and whys” ‐ along with some best practice items as well. We'll also be looking for open discussion ‐ to knowledge share across attendees in an effort to covering any other hot topics.

This session offers a streamlined overview of Microsoft Purview’s key capabilities—Audit, Compliance Manager, Data Classification, DLP, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, and Information Governance—and how they help organizations uncover dark data, enforce retention policies, and improve data governance. We'll also touch on Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI, highlighting how it supports secure and compliant use of AI across the enterprise.
