Nature Committee Meeting: Growing Your Reach: Expanding Nature Programming for All

Monday, May 18, 2026 (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Located within IPRA's Recreation (REC) Section, the Nature Committee consists of a group of professionals that specialize or work in and around nature centers and nature programming. Don't work at a nature center? Don't worry, we still have so much to offer to any program working to include nature into its recreational offerings.  If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.

Join the IPRA Nature Committee for a dynamic and idea-filled morning at the Raupp Museum on May 18! This interactive meeting will explore how agencies can grow nature programming beyond school groups and become go-to destinations for community engagement.  We’ll dive into creative strategies for attracting new audiences, share successes (and challenges), and exchange practical program ideas—especially for staff who may not have formal naturalist training. From educational gardens to easy-to-implement activities, you’ll leave with fresh inspiration and tools you can use right away.

Come ready to collaborate, share, and spark new ideas with fellow professionals passionate about connecting people to nature! Pack a lunch- we're eating outside in the gardens after the meeting.

Members can click here to log into their accounts and opt-in to the Nature Committee list through Lists/Committees.  Not an IPRA member? Click here and join today!

CEUs: Event is not approved for CEUs (Continuing Education Units are for certifications such as CTRS, CPRE and CPRP certification).
