Western Illinois University (WIU) Summer Opportunities Fair

The WIU Summer Opportunities Fair will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:30am to 3:30pm at the WIU Union, Grand Ballroom on the Macomb campus. This job fair is open to ALL MAJORS. In the event of a school closure due to weather (WIU initiated), the fair will be held the next day on Thursday, February 22 in the same location and times. Registration is only open to park districts/departments, special recreation associations, and forest preserves at this time. Agencies seeking to hire summer, seasonal, internships and/or full-time staff are welcome to register for this ALL MAJORS job fair.

Included in registration:

• Two agency recruiters
• Boxed lunch
• One 8-foot table with two chairs

Amtrak (arrives into Macomb: 11am; departs: 6:15pm, Chicago with intermittent stops)

  Join Mr. Earl B. Hunter, Jr., President of Black Folks Camp Too, as he works to build unity and bring people together in outdoor/nature spaces. Mr. Hunter speaks to folks around the country to bring inclusivity to outdoor spaces for all individuals. “We are changing the world, one campfire at a time”. Before starting his business, Black Folks Camp Too, Mr. Hunter successfully led a sales force for one of the major RV manufacturers in the U.S. His sales and business expertise have enabled him to build many bridges between communities and now he is working to help organizations of all sizes (ex: large state park systems to independently owned campground businesses) into the space of inclusivity. Black Folks Camp Too’s mission is to “remove fear, add knowledge, and invite more Folks of Color to camp and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle with Any and Everyone. At the center of their logo is the Unity Blaze - forging bonds across all aspects of adventure with the motto You are invited and welcomed!”.
