'26 Fall Playground Maintenance Course (Central Illinois)

Description
The National Recreation and Park Association's Playground Maintenance Course (PMC) is a one-day (6.25 hour) educational course that provides participants with an understanding of basic playground hazards, applying safe maintenance practices on equipment, identifying surfacing types and proper maintenance procedures, and establishing proper record keeping practices. This is a great opportunity for both permanent/seasonal part-timers that service playgrounds during the busy summer months and full-time professionals either aspiring to achieve Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification or looking for CEUs pre-approved for CPSI certification renewal.
Course taught by Rolling Meadows Superintendent of Parks and certified PMC instructor, Brian McKenna. Participation includes a playground maintenance guide, continental breakfast, lunch, playground visit, and certificate of completion.
The registration deadline is Friday, September 18, 11:59pm CST.
Course Objective
Upon successful completion of this course, the maintenance professional will be able to understand basic playground hazards, apply safe maintenance practices on equipment, identify surfacing types and proper maintenance procedures, and establish proper record-keeping practices.
Who Should Attend
Part-time and full-time practitioners tasked with the responsibility of maintaining playgrounds at public parks, schools, and private facilities, and anyone interested in learning more about playground safety. Current CPSIs are also encouraged to participate to earn CEUs pre-approved for CPSI certification renewal.
