Youth & Day Camp Committee Meeting (TR)

Description

Located within IPRA's Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Section, the Youth & Day Camp Committee consists of a group of professionals that either specialize or work in and around camps at special recreation agencies.  If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.

This month’s meeting will focus on supporting staff and strengthening program consistency across youth and day camp programs. Key topics will include behavior expectations and discipline procedures, with an emphasis on clear, consistent approaches that promote a positive and respectful environment for all campers.  The committee will also discuss camper rewards and positive reinforcement strategies to encourage engagement, growth, and positive behavior. Additionally, we will review parent communication practices and explore ways to ensure messaging is clear, proactive, and supportive of strong family partnerships.  Overall, the meeting will aim to provide staff with practical tools and aligned strategies to enhance the camper experience and support successful program operations.

How to Participate: This meeting will be available for IPRA Members in the CommUnity.  Registered participants will receive access links the day prior.
