Located within the A&F Section, the Risk Management Committee consists of park district professionals in a risk management and/or safety role at their agency. The event will start with a presentation of "Best Practices in Festival Security" by Steve Schlindbeck and Derke Price and will end with a Risk Management Committee roundtable discussion. If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.
Presentation Details: Join us for an afternoon to prepare for summer outdoor large-scale community events in A&F’s Risk Management Special Interest Group – Best Practices for Festival Security. Chief of Police for Naperville Park District, Steven Schindlbeck, and Ancel Glink, Derke Price, will discuss how to work through the planning stages of large-scale outdoor community events.
Learning Objectives:
1. How to work collaboratively with local police/fire for large-scale community events
2. Best practices to pre-plan for emergency communication at outdoor events
3. Tips and considerations for emergency action plans for outdoor events
