Description

Hosted by IPRA's Communications & Marketing (C&M) Section, the Social Media Committee covers content strategy, best practices, platform updates, analytics, engagement tactics, accessibility, emerging trends, and much more.  If you are interested in joining the C&M Section or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register.

Data to Direction: A Social Media Metrics & Analytics Roundtable: Social media analytics can provide powerful insight, but only when the right metrics are being tracked and understood. This interactive roundtable will help participants make sense of social media data in a practical, approachable way. Through guided discussion and peer sharing, attendees will explore which metrics are most useful, which are often over-tracked or underutilized, and how analytics can inform content decisions, reporting, and communication with internal stakeholders. The session will also include hands-on conversation around navigating Meta Business Suite insights, pulling specific analytics, and translating platform data into clear, meaningful takeaways. This roundtable is designed to be collaborative and discussion-driven, allowing participants to learn from one another’s experiences while strengthening their ability to evaluate and apply social media performance data in their daily work.

Learning Objectives:
1.  Identify and evaluate key social media performance metrics by distinguishing which metrics matter most, which are unnecessary, and how metric selection should align with organizational goals, capacity, and priorities.
2. Navigate and interpret social media analytics tools, including Meta Business Suite, to locate specific insights and use platform-provided data to inform content, campaign, and posting decisions.
3.  Apply and communicate social media analytics effectively by translating data into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making and resonate with leadership, boards, and non-marketing stakeholders.

Wendy Friedman, Partnerships and Communications Specialist Organization at Buffalo Grove Park District
Maddy Moon, Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator Organization at Mt. Prospect Park District
